Digital resources galore!

Term 1 has been choppy seas all around, but he waka eke noa - we're all in this together, and the OMGTech! team has been hard at work, creating resources to make your life easier 🌟🌈
Here are some things we hope will help over the next wee while:
Our hardware wizard Krishna is writing a series of digital fabrication-related resources to help you get the most out of your 3D printers, laser cutters and CNC routers.
We have a new Scratch course for ākonga (learners) called Waka Tāonga and the 1st part is ready to go!
We're bringing you a week of live FREE online classes, hosted by our fabulous facilitators, and special guest tech experts from Microsoft and PARTNERS.
See below for details!
Stay well and we will get through this together ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

                                     New Activities

Playing with phones

Feature phones are great fun for young talkers. These mini-computers are a perfect fit for small hands, have lots of numbers and letters, and get juniors talking! This free module will give you lots of ideas for using them in your classroom!

We've developed a course to guide ākonga through:
  • coding, drawing, and recording in Scratch,
  • effective online research,
  • how to sourcing images/video/audio with creative commons licences
  • designing & animating their own waka (traditional Māori canoe),
  • and of course, learning all about the importance of waka in Te Ao Māori and Pasifika cultures.
The first part of the course is now complete and ready for use on OMGTech's Ākonga Wharenui.
Check out our trailer on the right:
